10 o'clock on a Saturday night/ only two more hours til this day's out of sight/ right now it's not that things are bad/ but there's much more trouble to be had/ things are too good for someone like me/ I'll find pain when there's none to see/ I'll find shadows in the dark/ burn everything by inflaming the spark/ I can't help it/ it's easier.

perhaps that is why I should give up writing.

I did not get up until noon today. I suck. Regardless, I managed to accomplish everything I set to do today, and I could do more except I'm lacking in motivation. 3 500 word mini-essays for French...yuck. I've really gotten out of practice with writing in French--I have to look up so many words in the dictionary.

My roommates are really fun right now. Anastasia made me supper (spaghetti) and I made garlic bread. Michelle was frying potatoes when her phone rang, so she asked us to do something if they caught fire. We waited until she got to her room before this happened:

[Anastasia] MICHELLE! Your potatoes are on fire!
[Me] Holy crap! Michelle! *whispers* hey, pretend you're on fire too
[A] OWW! Fuck, that hurts!
[Me]Anastasia's on fire! Do something! Leslie, call the ambulance on your phone!
[Leslie] no. it costs too much. you're not worth it
[A] I'm burning...Michelle!
[Michelle] *running back out* Are you okay? what happened?
[Me] Anastasia caught on fire trying to save your potatoes, but Steve saved her single-handledly
[steve--not my Steve] actually, it took both hands.

I found that entirely too funny for words. It doesn't play out as well on paper, unfortunately.

I got nominated for 6 awards at the newspaper, including 2 for "non-news article of the year" and "writer of the year". I really want "column article of the year", because the article it refers to is one of the most fun things I've ever written.

And once again, I'd like to give a shoutout to Holly, my faithful reader and even more faithful friend. And to Bonnie, for "coming out" as a WWF fan. I'm slowly getting sucked into it. I'm not sure if I like it, but it does make for amusing television. As does Survivor. It's so sad, I'm throwing out all my morals these days. How can I be snarky and smartassed when I'm watching what I mock?
