An entry from home:
I've been at home since Friday. Thursday was my French exam, in which I learned a valuable lesson: don't try to write 2000+ words in an hour and a half, because your hand will fall off and die. It hurt--I couldn't even hold the pen by the end. After that I went to the Hibou staff party, which was a terrifically good time. I won "Least Edited Writer" and "Staff Member of the Year" as serious awards, and my joke awards were the "Thanks for being the only person at all the meetings", the "Mono Survival", the "Derek's Replacement for Keeping the Peace" and "the Green thumb(less?)" awards. After watching Survivor in NUSU we went to a bar downtown called the Moose and hung out there for a really long time. I actually had about 5 or 6 drinks throughout the course of the night, but was surprisingly sober. Electric popsicles are the best drink ever. I have a feeling they may play a dangerous role in my future.
Friday I watched "Almost Famous" with my dad and Squidge. A very cool movie, I think. the music alone makes it worthwhile. Kitana and I watched "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" yesterday afternoon, which I hadn't seen probably since it came out. Man, there were a lot of jokes in it that I just didn't get before. Kinda like with Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure--that whole "69, dude!" thing was just, "oh cool, he knew the right number"...no sexual connotations.
Last night I went out with Angie, Dwayne, his boyfriend Matt (whom I've only met once before, but seems sweet), Andrea (Angie's very pregnant friend), Brenna, Trevor and Gravity. It was good just to see everyone again and hang out at Cellarman's. I love that place. Gravity drove me home and sunggled with me on my front porch. We went out to Wasaga Beach today to see the water and it was quite nice...though too many people for my tastes. and he's getting me Josie and the Pussycats ears from the theatre. As sad as it sounds, I want to see that movie, and I want a pair of those ears. I'm excited.
Today's my father's 48th birthday, so I would like to wish him more happy years. He doesn't even get a cake, 'cause he can't (well, won't) eat it. Tomorrow is our Easter meal (Mom's been working nights all weekend) and that should be some good food...contributing to my University Theory of Turkey, which basically states that everytime I come home from school (even random weekends) I get a hot turkey dinner. It's scary, but in the best way possible.
