give a little bit of your love to me
10:01 p.m. & 06 January 2002

I can't believe it's been almost six days since the last entry. Huh. Well, for better or for worse, I am back in North Bay until mid-February, when I will return home for reading week and for a consultation on the removal of my wisdom teeth, which are persistently cutting their way through the tender flesh of my gums even as we speak.

The dentist gave me a really cool syringe that I'm supposed to fill with salt water and squirt at the teeth when they hurt. Squidge wants to know why I can't just rinse my mouth out with saltwater instead.

New Year's Eve was largely sucktacular, mainly owing to the weather: I got snowed in. In Elmvale. With my insane, deranged family, and not my lovely, wonderful, warm boyfriend whom I hadn't seen in nine days. Bah humbug, indeed. It really upset me. NYE2000 was the first time I'd ever had a boyfriend for the event, and he kissed me at midnight. As silly/superstitious as this will sound, I was (and still am, a little) deathly afraid that if I didn't kiss him at midnight this year we wouldn't stay together for the whole year.

But we got together the next day and saw "The Majestic" and hung out, and saw "Fellowship of the Ring" again the day after that. I went to see it again with my dad the day after that. Sad, yes?

I'm a little worried about this semester (as symbolized in my recent dreams about drowning and being trapped) and the potential workload. It will suck, and there will be much bitching. Much bitching.

Anyone remember my NUSU/editorial fiasco from September? Due to the shit stirred by me, my roommate Benjamin and assorted other people over improper and illegal running of a referendum, NUSU has decided to amend their governance package to make everything that they've fucked up legal. For example: for future referendums, NUSU will automatically form a Yes committee; NUSU will also have no spending cap and will be allowed to use our union dues to fund whatever they deem necessary in the promotion of the Yes campaign, while the No campaign is left high and dry. There aren't even words for how wrong this is, as it essentially gives them carte blanche to do whatever the hell they want in the next few years, regardless of what is actually best for the school.

I think a little investigative journalism is necessary. mwah haha hahahahahahsAasshshh....snuh?

Anyhow, I should get moving as Benjamin needs the internet...
