you're so crazy, crazy for me 1:54 p.m. & 17 January 2002
School is finally over for another week. I really need to get my ass in gear. I have a history essay due on February 6 and I don't even have a topic yet. So, I suck. I actually made it to class this morning despite very little sleep last night and I'm disturbingly perky and awake. Weee! Man, caffeine is so not my friend. I'm all giddy for absolutely no reason. How lame is that?
Leslie (one of my ex-roommates) and I hung out this morning because she had a two hour break between classes and I had to wait until 11:30 to get one of my essays back. (Long story.) It was a lot of fun, and I've been invited to go to supper with everyone tonight at Canadore. (Canadore is the college next to the university here. Their hospitality programs are required to run a once-a-week restaurant thing, and tonight is the grand opening.) So it should be fun.
I got an 81 on the essay, just in case you care.
Yay, Tom Petty two-pack on the radio. I'm all about the Tom Petty two-packs. I *heart* Tom Petty. And one of my English profs. He's uber-cute in a really sweet, dorky, English-prof kind of a way. We had a conversation in our last seminar about cats and their ability to stay outside during the winter, which went something like this:
Prof. H.: So, uh, can barn cats stay outside in this kind of weather? is it too cold for them? Us: it's not too bad, if they have somwhere to sleep. P.H.: Well, it's just that, um, one of them looked really shivery and cold.
Us: well where are they? P.H.: they're in a shed, sleeping in some of that pink fiberglass insulation. Most People: oh, yeah, that should keep them warm. Me: um, actually, that's a really bad idea. It's kind of poisonous. P.H.: but they seem to like it...[looks sad] Me: yeah, and they like anti-freeze too. Some Girl: couldn't you take them in? P.H.: I would, but I don't think my cat would like it so much [All 19 girls in the seminar have a communal thought bubble reading: "Awwww! He has a cat!" Nick, the only guy, rolls his eyes.]
I have such a crush on him, in a very stupid and mostly pointless way.
I was reading through a variety of newspapers from other schools yesterday, including the Manitoban, which is the paper from U of Manitoba, oddly enough, and there was an article in it on Slowjam, which is a friend of mine's boyfriend's band. It was cool. I got way too excited about it.
Today Stephen and I have been together for 17 months. I bet you $20 he forgets.
