I've met so many men, it's like they're all the same
3:04 p.m. & 11 April 2002

An update on the situation at hand:

1) Upon perusal of the NUSU constitution, it seems that if they do succeed in disbanding the Hibou for the summer to adjust their constitution, we will be shut down for an entire year. Changes to the constitution cannot be put into effect until voted on at the Annual General Meeting, which occurs in April every year. So, in essence, the paper is disbanded until May 1st, 2003.

2) The AGM will be sometime next week. This is the only meeting where students have voting rights. So we're going to ask for the motion to cease and desist to be rescinded.

3) I did some illegal stuff last night, like going into my office. It was fun. I hummed the musical interlude of Golden Earring's "Radar Love" because it sounds like a spy theme to me. I'd make a terrible spy though--way too nervous.

4) Benjamin may still be a student, giving him voting rights and privileges.

5) Carla was given a "How Does Your Ass Feel?" award by the member of council who orchestrated this whole fiasco at the year-end appreciation ceremony last week. At the time, she thought it was a not-so-funny joke. In light of what happened three days later, it's really not so funny and kind of slanderous.

Ultimately, if they decide to disband us for the summer (the only cause which they have for doing so is if they haven't adopted our constitution), they executive will be liable for the funds they turned over to us this year, which from all estimations appears to be about $10 000 (give or take), since they just gave it to random students for no particular reason. So either way, they're damned. And it will be good.
