One of my favourite things about Nipissing is the bus ride up to the school. The school itself is actually located on a hill, near the outskirts of town, and it's a long windy bus ride up to the top. But there are a few brief moments when you get upto the top that you're high enough up that you can see all the way out to the other side of town, which is Lake Nipissing. There's something very neat and reassuring about seeing the water and the islands and rocks. I'll definitely miss it when I leave here. Which is, ofcourse, still three years away.
I wrote my first exam (Early Modern European history) this morning. It was okay. I imagine I did alright, though certainly not as spectacular as I might have hoped. My hand is still pretty cramped, as I wrote for three solid hours. I only filled two exam booklets, too, and I saw some people who filled three or more. Which is crazy to me, I mean, there's only so much you can say about Prussia, even though it was a pretty cool place. They were the only European country to successfully centralize their economy, you know. And the War of the Spanish Succession? that was some pretty cool shit.
My exzema is getting worse--it's all over my right palm and winding its way across my fingers too...it's weird. What I have is sometimes referred to as contact dermatitis, and it's basically a bunch of little bubbles under the skin on my hands. It's normally a reaction to something in dish washing soap. The thing is, I don't wash dishes by hand all that often, and even when I do, I don't react to the soap. Benjamin has it even worse than I do, and he can't even use shower soap because he reacts so strongly to it. Mine is seemingly a lot more random, and less itchy and painful. although it is starting to hurt. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so maybe I'll get her to take a look at it.
I had my interview at TeleTech yesterday. It went pretty well, I think. The interviewer made a point of going to talk to Benjamin about me afterwards and saying that she was impressed. She's recommending me for a job in customer service, the only problem being that the job doesn't actually exist as of yet--they're still waiting on a requisition for student staff.
This is what I get for being honest about my plans to return to school.
I bought new shorts and three new tank tops yesterday. It was exciting. Or something. Wal-mart is rather godly. I actually found a pair of capri pants that I liked and looked good on me (I'm generally opposed to capri pants as a matter of principle) and they're only $19.97, so in the event that I ever have money again, I plan to buy them.
Not much else is new. Except it's damn hot here, and my room is on the top floor of the house, it's realy hot. I'm notorious for using my computer to heat my room in the winter (the CPU generates a stupid amount of heat) and so I have to make the choice of having a warm room and no computer or a hot room with computer access. And this is only April!
