well I used to love her, but it's all over now

Entry #2 for today, I guess. I remembered some of the stuff I wished to ramble on about earlier.

I had a pretty neat day today, at least in terms of my family. We had a neat conversation in the car about baptism (none of us kids were, and my parents don't know if they were) which led to further ramblings on religion. My parents are very neat like that. My dad, being Scottish, had a Protestant (Presbyterian) upbringing, and my mum's was similar; yet neither of them are particularly religious, and indeed, both have very agnostic viewpoints at times. My sisters and I have benefited from this, and often are something of a rarity--our upbringing has been largely areligious. Apparently religion is a choice we have to make for ourselves.

Having said that, it would really help me out a lot as an English major and history minor to have had a religious upbringing.

We later had a discussion on existentialism at the dinner table. Never a dull moment. My family is not normally this prolific. We also got into marriage, and my parents squabbled for a bit. Mum thinks marriage is an antiquated institution with no real meaning or practical purpose anymore. Dad is pro-marriage, although apparently not until I'm 35. They are too funny.

Still apprehensive about tomorrow. But hopeful, too, and that's all I can ask for at this point.
