in war we're tough and able
1:25 p.m. & 26 May 2002

Finally, a day off. I know that I only work five days a week (Tuesday through Saturday) but it always starts to seem like much longer. Maybe it's because they keep putting me in the same buildings, so the week seems like a bad casee of deja vu. And not in a cool CSNY kind of way.

The last few days have been good, though. I fulfilled my familial obligations by going to the Babar's grade eight Ottawa class trip meeting on Thursday, which was kind of cool. I can't get over how old people her age look. It's her fourteenth birthday today, and the kids all look like they're seventeen. It freaks me out. They're all kinderwhores. I'm quite jealous of the trip she's going on, though--they're going to Quebec City as well as Ottawa.

I was stuck in AV/Foyer yesterday, which was pretty boring. It was a long day, but we had 334 visitors, so all in all, not bad.

Last night I actually went out to Cellarman's with Erin and Megan, two friends from high school who I haven't seen in ages. We used to be quite close, a long time ago, but for one reason or another have lost contact since we graduated. Despite this we had a pretty good time. MaintenanceMike (one of the maintenance guys from work, whose name is not Mike, though I remain convinced that he does look like a Mike) joined us at Cellarman's, along with Jess and Erica and a few other people. (Essentially, if you sat in Cellarman's long enough, you would eventually see every single person I work with). We eventually got kicked out at midnight when the kitchen closed (Meg and I both having forgotten our ID) so we went to Tim Horton's and hung out there for a long while.

I finally found my ID this morning when cleaning my room, thank god. Now Neil Finn will become a reality, hurrah.

I just received a phone call from Benjamin, and apparently he's going to be here tonight instead of tomorrow. I'm glad he's coming to visit me. I'm taking him to SMATH tomorrow.
