thursday I don't care about you 3:38 p.m. & 17 June 2002
Man, have I ever been slack with the updates as of late. Again, I thoroughly apologize, and I should probably warn you that this will be the on going trend for the next month or so, at least until Education Season is over at work.
Best. Song. Ever: True Patriot Love by the Joel Plaskett Emergency. I'm just saying.
In a semi-interesting side note, I've now been maintaining this diary for just over two years. June 12th 2000 was my first entry. This entry will be my 201st. I'm pretty proud of this--all previous attempts at maintaining an active archive (like that's not a contradiction in terms) have gone by the wayside after three months. So happy diaryland anniversary to me.
It's been a good week. Wednesday was the SMATH sleepover, which I think went well. People were somewhat disappointed in the lack of formal organization (with particular reference) to playing games, which is my fault but also something of a miscommunication, as I assumed that those interested would organize themselves. It was good fun, though, and I got a fairly large amount of sleep despite sleeping on the wooden floor in the upstairs of the Jesuit residence.
I can't think of anything else exciting that's happened in the last little while...I've been hanging out a lot with MaintenanceMike, which is great...he's good fun. He took me book shopping and I got a new deck of tarot cards for $13. He bought the complete dictionary of Star Wars characters (not the actual title) and it's pretty amazing--we spent almost three hours going through it.
I'm still sick-ish, which is not fun. Mom is convinced that it's allergies, and so keeps trying to make me take a variety of allergy medications (Reactine, Claritin, etc), none of which have helped at all--undoubtedly because I have a cold and not allergies. I'm not allergic to anything--I don't know why Mom has become so convinced that this is what it is.
My grandparents (my mom's parents) will be celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary this weekend, and I am rather excited about this. For one reason or another (mostly that my work schedule for the summer is inflexible and that I go to school 4.5 hours away from Toronto) I very seldom see my mother's family anymore, and it will be good to see them again. This will also be one of the largest gatherings I've ever gone to (a somewhat daunting prospect but still strangely thrilling). We're going to be staying in Toronto on Saturday night, too, which means hot tub for me...mmm, hot tub. I've even bought a new bathing suit for the occasion. Bless Old Navy. If you're in Canada, make sure to check out their Canada Day t-shirts for $7.50. They're pretty sweet.
Upon her first visit to an Old Navy, one of Sarcastor's friends took one look at the clothes and said, "Oh dear, they've given those poor GAP sweatshop children Bedazzlers." Which is true, but I like their clothes anyway.
