keep looking my way
10:01 a.m. & 12 August 2002

What a long week. Work is finally winding down, which is nice, I think. Although things are still incredibly unorganized there, I'm composing a litany of complaints about such that will go into my final evaluation, so hopefully that will make a different. (Even though I know it won't.)

I've had more or less a three day weekend, as I took Saturday afternoon off, and spent the morning discussing the Star Trek universe. One of Mike's cousins got married on Saturday, and so I went as his guest. Having never actually been to a wedding before, this was pretty exciting for me, and on the whole it was a neat experience. Of course, I know can kind of see my mom's point as to why weddings are largely irrelevant in today's society, especially large and elaborate ones, but I still like the symbolism of a wedding. So in the event that I should ever get married, it will be a very small affair.

It was also the wedding day for a friend of mine from work, someone I've known for about three years now, and so we attended her reception after that of Mike's cousin. It was also quite nice--the bride brought new meaning to the word radiant. She's someone I think very highly of, and I wish her all the happiness in the world.

By clicking hereyou can see me and Mike in our fancy wedding apparel.

I talked to Judith last night, which was always nice. She's got a new crush, on a geek girl who seems to be on the same wavelength, and so was quite the smitten kitten. It's kind of funny. I miss her.

After the funeral songs poll taken by the BBC, I would like to throw 'carefree highway' by Gordon Lightfoot in to the ring as my contribution.

I received a letter from the school asking me if I would be interested in tutoring other students after my academic success of the past year. An interesting idea, to be sure.

My family leaves for the east coast on Thursday, the bastards. Always going places without me. Last year, they gave me a gorgeous parrot kite for my birthday, and then took it with them when they went to Myrtle Beach for March Break--yet another trip I couldn't go on, due to having school work and a job and such. Apparently they're going to bring my kite with them again. I'm definitely envious of them. Originally I was supposed to go with, but due to the OPSEU strike a few months back, my contract was extended until September 2nd (originally it was supposed to run until August 24th) and I can't afford to take that extra week off work. But that's alright--I like being home along.

My play premieres on Wednesday night. I'm quite excited for this. There have been articles in the newspaper and everything, so ti should be good times.
