and the birds are offering up their tunes
11:00 a.m. & 19 August 2002

The last few days have been interesting, if somehwat tiring. The being at home alone has been good. Mike and I have watched lots of movies, like The Graduate, The Time Machine and Resident Evil. although technically speaking, by 'we' I mean 'he' because I keep falling asleep. It's because I've been cooking for the last few nights and as a result of that, we've been eating a lot of food.

The store was pretty boring yesterday, though I did get all the vacuuming/flower watering/dusting/window washing done, which is a plus, I suppose. There must have been something in the air, though, because seriously, no fewer than three children threw hardcore temper tantrums in the store. Urgh. And the parents did nothing about them, either, aside from appeasing their children by getting them whatever it was that they wanted in the first place. It surprised me. I was certainly not always a as well behaved in public as my parents might have liked, but at the same time, I knew better than to do that.

Reason number 43 why I don't like children.

It's cold here today. I'm wearing a wool sweater and I feel quite nice in it.

I think I might get my hair cut today. But maybe not.

Work still has two weeks left to it, two weeks that are hanging over my head like the proverbial guillotine (if there could be such a thing as a proverbial guillotine). Another year over--and such an odd one. I don't quite know how to feel about this year, not at all. Tthe few friends I have made this year, though, I think I'll try to hold on to.
