wild horses couldn't drag me away
9:09 a.m. & 02 September 2002

While trying to compose this entry I was monkeying around with my templates a bit and I just lost this entry for the third time, which is exceptionally aggravating. I've also had a few sneezing fits, and it seems that my cold has finally caught up with me.

The last few days have been fairly eventful. Saturday was the last day of the summer season at SMATH for my work group, which was sort of an odd thing--what you might call a mixed blessing. Group Two got together at a local pub for dinner and drinks, and it was a nice way to say goodbye to a lot of people that I'm glad I had the chance to get to know. Group Two usually has more of the interesting/wacky/weird people in it at SMATH, and I've been proud to be a member for the last 3 summers. It was a really good time.

I also found out that one of my friends will be undergoing major surgery in a few weeks as a live organ donor, which is a pretty scary thing. I'm very proud of this friend for making that decision, and I hope everything works out for the best.

Dad took me and Babar to the Ex yesterday. The Ex is really the Canadian National Exhibition, which takes place for two weeks in August in Toronto. We hadn't been since we were little (I was still in grade school the last time we went) and it was a lot of fun. Babar got a henna tattoo, we went on rides, we played Bingo (and I won some really tacky cups for school), we went on a few rides before I got sick...we ate a tonne of food. it was a good day. I also bought myself another Benjamin Chee Chee print...this one is called 'Dancing Goose' and it's quite nice.

We also got to go out for supper at the Mandarin on Yonge Street and it was really good. I've developed quite the affinity for egg noodles in the last year. These were some of the best, this was probably the best restaurant I've ever been to in terms of both food and service--a nice change to the bad service I've been getting everywhere else as of late.

Everyone goes back to school tomorrow except me.
