and so it goes, and so it goes 8:16 a.m. & 06 September 2002
Mmmm. Today is my last day in Elmvale, as I depart for my beloved North Bay Rock City tomorrow morning. I have some mixed feelings about this. I can't believe the summer went that fast. But it always does. I still have lots of packing to do, mostly laundry and such. I'm still sort of in denial about the whole thing so I'm trying not to do too much, but unfortunately I've really got to get moving if I'm going to get anything done today.
Here at fineskylark.diaryland.com, long and convoluted sentences are the order of the day, in addition to being absolutely necessary.
I have an appointment for a pedicure at 11. Normally that's the sort of luxury I classify as 'decadent' and thus not for me, but after a summer of wearing the same socks 5 days a week in the same safety shoes, my feet are wretched. But soon they will be pretty again, oh yes.
I went to the leather store in Barrie and bought about 11 square feet of 'utility' deerskin and needles and sinew and such, and have already made a pair of moccasins (for me), a belt (also for me, one of those fancy new fringe ones) and a beaded cuff bracelet (for Babar). I'm in a craftsy mood again, and this usually spells trouble, because it means I'm in denial about something.
I also got new pants from Old Navy. bless them.
Well, I think that's all the procrastinating I can let myself get away with for one day. See you on the flip side.
