drinking for the dance 5:47 p.m. & 10 September 2002
My computer is in a temporary state of actually working properly right now. We got my patch cord fixed only to find out that the device conflicts between my ethernet card and other such things have not been resolved, and so for the last day or so I have been unable to get my computer to boot up. It gets about halfway throught he start up sequence (the part where the windows 98 screen comes up) and just turns off. very frustrating.
the last two days have been good schoolwise. I'm very excited about the classes I'm taking this year. My 18th century prof talks like Garth from Wayne's World--it's a frightening resemblance. Except by frightening, I really mean uncanny and cool. My Canadian history class is also going to be excellent--one of our required texts is "Who Killed Canadian History?" by JL Granatstein, which some of you might remember me buying back in July. I have the option to write my own opinion piece on this controversial work, or to analyze the value of the CBC'sCanada: A People's History television series. It will be good.
My books are going to cost a fortune this year, though.
Benjamin and I are going to be starting our newsletter in a few short weeks. We have high ideals for such, and wish it to be everything the Hibou was not, and as such will be operating outside of the confines of that pesky student union.
yeah.
I get a lot more pompous when I go back to school, apparently. I apologize for my boringnessossity right now--it just has been a rather uneventful few days.
