on this winter night... 8:42 p.m. & 19 November 2002
It has been, as usual, far too long. This is the beginning of crunch time, mes amis. The next two weeks will go along way towards making or breaking me for this academic year, so wish me luck.
The last week has been fairly hectic. I went home on Thursday for my parents' anniversary. The weekend was fairly good--lots of Mike, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, my parents, etc. My only complaint is that I STILL DON'T HAVE A BED, although I'm told that will be remedied in time for my return at Christmas. I also watched Men With Brooms and Insomnia (which, ironically, I fell asleep during).
We have a stupid amount of snow in North Bay right now. The bus system is still asstacular--I was nearly late for my history class today because the bus was fifteen minutes late. Grr. I finished and handed in my "Who Killed Canadian History?" paper today. I'm not entirely happy with how it came out, but I imagine that I'll do alright...maybe. Maybe not. I got my first 18th Century paper back today and I got a 75 on it. Now, a 75 is not a bad mark. Especially not with the new grading criteria that Nipissing has implemented this year. But somehow, I can't help but feel that it isn't an appropriate mark--maybe because it's the lowest essay grade I've gotten yet. I was actually somewhat perturbed by it earlier today, but I feel better after talking to other people in the class, because not too many people did better than 75. Maybe he's just a hard marker. Or maybe *gasp* it just wasn't that good.
I have another essay due in that class next Wednesday that I haven't picked a topic for yet because I'm a moron.
I got approved for my loan today. Or rather, my mummy got approved for my loan today. Which is good news all around, as things have been looking rather sparse around here lately. Money is a very necessary evil.
I have to buy those cuppy bra things (the ones for dresses etc. that have no backs) before formal. I doubt very much that they actually work, but I figure it'll be better than no support at all, right?
