make your day the nothing can compare-iest
12:22 p.m. & 22 December 2002

Hmmm...why is my house so freaking cold? Possibly because my mom is slowly turning into her mom (my grandparents are famous for keeping their house between 65-68 degrees Farenheit in the winter). Which of course means that someone day I will become my mother, which mostly isn't such a bad thing, although I can think of a few things I could do without.

The new digital camera is fun. I'm debating what to do after Boxing Day. I had my eye on the Kodak DX4200, which is a nice-ish camera (it's nothing special, but nothing to complain about either) that will go down to $159 after Christmas. I'm also looking at the Kodak DX4230, which is twice as expensive ($329) but has a few nicer features (zoom and such) as well as a Toshiba model that seems really nice. See, if I get the 4200, I could get a dock thing as well, but I don't know if it would be better to have a better quality, more versatile camera.

Not too much is new here. I bought 'Mulholland Drive' and 'The Royal Tenenbaums' on DVD for $12 apiece, even though I'm supposed to be on a purchasing moratorium right now. But $12 apiece? How could I pass that up? I also got a really sweet lambswool sweater from Old Navy for $15, which I had my eye on back when it was $40.

Need to stop spending money.

I made Mike a Christmas stocking. My family all have homemade ones (my mom's is probably older than God) that were made by various members of our extended family (mostly my mom). My dad's is huge, because apparently he had 'stocking envy' after seeing the size of my uncle Bob's. Mike's is nice. It's red felt, with a tree and presents and a mouse reading 'A Visit From St. Nicholas'. If I'm ever allowed to touch the digital camera, I may take a picture of it--I'm pretty impressed by it.

Ben called yesterday to tell me that there is much mail awaiting my return to North Bay, so thank you very much to everyone who has sent me holiday cards, I assure you they will be just as well received in January.

Mum's working a bunch of straight nights now, which means I have not been able to shower in two days (our bathroom is right next to the master bedroom) and as a result I am a disgusting creature. Yuck. I need to get my hair cut. It's driving me crazy.

This entry is a bit all over the place, but oh man, they have Star Trek: Enterprise action figures at Toys'r'Us.
