like nothing I have ever known

I spent the weekend (yes, my parents actually let me) at Mike's, and thusly I apologize for the lack of updat-age, although I assure you that my life is in fact very mundane and you probably haven't missed anything.

It was Winterama this weekend in Penetang, which meant lots of a) cold weather; b) parades and c) giant book sale at the Penetang public library. Woo! It was chock full of goodness, because Penetang is a bilingual town and they had all kinds of French books for me to pour over. I ended up buying six old Astérix comic books. I used to read them when I lived in France because they were pretty much the only thing I could understand. Anyhow, they're really funny (and well written, I think) but they're hard to find (and expensive) in English Canada, so I was really excited to find them.

The rest of the book sale was somewhat less eventful but that's okay, because I got my 60s French comic books.

Valentine's Day was pretty good too. Mum's working nights at the hospital right now, so we couldn't go out for supper. Dad brought home Chinese food instead, and we did the card-exchange thing; I got socks and a Sarah McLachlan biography (should still be interesting though I'm not as into her as I was when I was 17ish). Mike and I exchanged presents back at his house, and he got me a gold necklace with a heart-shaped ruby pendant. 'Tis pretty. His mom got me one of the new Star Wars LEGO mini-sets. It's the AT-ST and the snowspeeder, and it's really cute.

It's good to be at home, though I know I ought to get moving on this whole 'getting homework done' thing, as I'm going to be screwed when I get back if I don't.

Anyone know anything useful about post-modernism?
