don't you know who I am? 11:53 a.m. & 15 April 2003
This is what I've been doing for the last couple of nights.
Exam #2 tomorrow afternoon. It's first year Canadian history, so I'm not too worried; I have the exam outline and it is pretty clear as to what's going to go down. I just have to sit down and develop preliminary thesis statements. Which shouldn't take too long, I wouldn't think.
I went to visit Kori at work yesterday and ended up spending way too much money. I bought three of the CBC's Canada Reads books: Colony of Unrequited Dreams by Wayne Johnston(god, what a brilliant title); Sarah Binks by Paul Hiebert; and Next Episode by HUbert Aquin. All three books deal with different aspects of Canadian history. I find this interesting. I wonder what it says about us.
I bought Colony of Unrequited Dreams for my mothr because I know she's really been anting to read it, and when I called home last night to tell her, she told me that she'd gone to buy it for me yesterday and hadn't been able to find it.
I was always somewhat skeptical as to the power of the CBC radio until last year's Canada Reads contest vaulted Michael Ondaatje's "In the Skin of a Lion" to the top of the bestsellers list after it won. I read it in high school, I think. For our grade twelve independent study. Colony of Unrequited Dreams is #1 right now, I think. It's Justin Trudeau's pick. I think my mom is suffering from some belated Trudeaumania.
A-z is still really excited about having a job. It's going to be her first one ever, and I hope it works out for her.
Children of Dune is really good. Except I liked the eyes better when they were more glowy. They were much spookier that way.
I got a postcard from Finland from my old roommate Michelle. she's doing a five week exchange there. It's pretty exciting for her; and she sounds like she's having a lot of fun. I wish I did adventure-some things like that.
I did not win $30 million in the Super7 last week. oh well.
