don't take it from me
7:30 a.m. & 21 May 2003

Man. What a week. Right now, above the number keys on my keyboard are pictures of my parents when they were younger...my mom probably can't be more than 16 or 17, which makes my dad 19 or 20. It's quite funny, because it's a picture of them taken before they went to some kind of formal dance, and it's taken in front of someone's turquoise plaid curtains. Turquoise plaid! I can't make this stuff up. Also, my dad has a yellow ruffled tuxedo shirt on in it. Ha ha. He has a carnation to match, too.

So Mila and Jess and me are thinking of going to Scotland for a week or so at the end of the summer. This came upon us after Mila and I talked to two Scottish travellers for nearly half an hour last weekend at work. So. The wheels, they are a-turning, and hopefully this will work out for us. Upon telling my parents of this, my father said "and how do you propose to pay for this?" while my mother only said "is your passport up to date? I think you might need a new one."

Quite right she is, too. Which is good, my old passport photo was taken when I was 14.

I saw the Matrix: Reloaded, and fell asleep during it. Mostly I just didn't get it. It was hugely unsatisfying on the whole, so I think my beloved (our one year anniversary is only a week away!) and I will be going to see it again soon. He is convinced that he wants to like it, and therefore must have just missed something that made it a better movie. Personally, I doubt the 45 minutes of naptime I had would make much of a difference.

It's a nice quiet week chez me, though, mum and k-t are gone til Friday afternoon, at which point they will come home and promptly leave again for girl guide camp, along with A-z. And even better, mon pere is actually home. Whee!

Not much else new to report, except that I've accepted a role in a movie that is probably best described as science fiction; though it contains elements of many different things. My character is not main, perse, though (I think) she is pivotal. And I get to develop holographic technology. It will be good times, I think. And I'm the ship's 2nd officer.

My acting skills are negligible at bestt, but I remain hopeful that the director has made an adequate, if not accurate, selection in his casting.
