Yuck, yuck, yuck. I would make an inappropriate joke about having SARS but in light of recent developments and the fact that Ontario seems to have been vastly pre-emptive on the "Yay! no more SARS!" tack, that seems to be, well, inappropriate. I do have a nagging cough, though, but it's accompanied by other symptoms that are very non-SARS-y.

It's really foggy outside today. It is also my darling A-Z's birthday today, and she is fifteen at long last, which means she can try out for Canadian Idol next year, if it still exists. I bought her one of the Care Bear movies on DVD and Moulin Rouge, which is her new favourite movie. She's considering redoing her bedroom Moulin Rouge-style, which would be kind of interesting, I guess.

It's been a really crummy couple of days. Work is really slow. Ridiculously slow. Like an average of 30 visitors a day, when at this time of year we should be averaging 150-200. There are a lot of reasons for this: SARS (of course), West Nile virus (hurray for mosquito borne illnesses where 80% of the infected experience no symptoms!), the war on Iraq (Ontario's government has very strongly pledged our support to the US! our ties go way back!) and our old friend teacher strikes and lock outs. It is a sad, sad state of affairs and many people are worried about our jobs.

There is more--there always is--much of it is worse...but there will be time neough for that later. In brief: a friend is beaten up by her boyfriend (beaten up hardly does that justice)and my grandfather is hospitalized and may not have much time left. But that is another story, for another time.
