I had a whole entry yesterday that got eaten when my internet connection timed out. It was really sad!! All I can smell right now is my soap, which is Lush's "Honey I Washed the Kids". I think it's supposed to have a honey smell but to me it smells like cake. Really, really good cake.

So yesterday was a pretty good day. I had my meeting with Dr. Graff and I have the position of resarch assistant. So my job for the next little while will consist of researching how universities in Ontario approach student literacy and assuring that their students reach some kind of standard. For us this currently consists of a writing competency test where you have to answer questions like "Which are better, cats or dogs?" and express yourself clearly. The university figures it is time to take another look at why we do this and whether or not it's actually useful.

I also paid my money to the man that allows me to go to school for another semester. I feel silly complaining about tuition prices here, because certainly the education I receive in Ontario costs about 1/4 of what my program would in the US and I think the quality of my education is definitely comparable, if not better. Nonetheless, the $2500+ I spent yesterday was a lot of money.

After three full years of having attended the school, I finally went up to the gym yesterday and even did a cardio class. It was great! I'm not feeling the burn too much today, which is also good. It felt nice just to do something for once. They also have yoga classes on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I'm thinking I will be trying that next.

It's really, really hot here right now. I miss the gorgeous 15C and overcast weather in Scotland. It is in many ways a country after my own heart.
