Gah. What a day. We found out for sure last night that Arwyn and Monty didn't get the house for next year (which is apparently illegal, owing to their squatter's rights or something, but they've elected not to fight it) so now we are down to the arduous task of organizing how exactly the clean-up/move out process is going to work, which is extremely complicated by the fact that Ben and Kori are moving out on the first of the month, and the Mathman is on placement for the month of April. So hopefully (ideally) things will work out, and everyone will pull their weight in terms of getting stuff cleaned up (an arduous task to be sure).
In other news, I received a letter today telling me that I did not get the job in Ottawa. I've actually been aware for about ten days now that I wouldn't get it (this is what happens when you make friends at the interview, and they get calls telling them that they have the job) but I didn't want to post anything about it until I knew for sure. (And also because I was pretty angry/upset about it for a couple of days, and I had a hard time really saying anything about it to anyone.) On the flip side of that coin, I will be returning to Ste. Marie with bells on, ready to enjoy a fresh summer there under the capricious rule of the new(ish) GM and her new mandate, which actually contains some good ideas.
The Squidge made out much better today than I did, as she got her job as a residence don (an RA position, basically) for next year, for which she is tres pumped. I'm really happy for her, and I hope that she is able to sustain herself academically...I worry about that kid a lot.
Pilates tonight totally kicked my ass. I had a neat moment today when I discovered that the prof I work for is also taking Pialtes classes from Kori's stepmom (which she was skipping to see the Vagina Monologues tonight; I chose to boycott and attend my class). We learned some neat things tonight, like doing push ups from a standing position, but oh my, am I ever tired.
Only a few more weeks left of school, and have I really accomplished that much? Let's make that a big fat NO.
Oh, and shout out to those of you who still read this: Holly, Jo, Chris, and Trevor. Thanks guys!
